Projects

The child we bring to safety, the girl we pluck from misery, the man we give a chance to, will never be just numbers in a project, but names in a new story.

If you see this.

You see this.

CASTLES OF WATER

Every well is a victory.

Everything is difficult without water. Not to say impossible.

This is why we set as the Foundation’s main goal the construction of wells powered by solar energy and water tanks, called “chateau d’eau” (castles of water). 43.9% of the Madagascar population (UNDP 2020) doesn’t have access to drinking water, and in the rural areas of the country this percentage reaches 62%.

This situation implies greater exposure to water related diseases such as bacteria diarrhea, hepatitis A and typhoid fever. Also, more and more plantations are going to rack and ruin because of the lack of an irrigation system that can provide water during dry spells, a typical phenomenon in Madagascar.

The wells that we built until now have literally transformed the way of living of the communities that have benefited from them. It is beautiful to observe how this has improved their lives so fast.

When the clean water comes, also do the benefits: women and girls are no longer obliged to walk for kilometres every day facing a lot of dangers, the diseases decrease (especially among the youngest), agricultural and breeding projects that were destined to fail can now reflourish and develop.

In conclusion, building castles in the air could be nice, but building CASTLES OF WATER is even better.

And now that you know the project...
