Projects

The child we bring to safety, the girl we pluck from misery, the man we give a chance to, will never be just numbers in a project, but names in a new story.

Slaves?

Never again.

BEBE MONIKA

Women are tied down by poverty and exploitation, so we want to break these chains and let them free by using microcredit. The path is already written. Many women around the world have achieved independence and freedom. Now, we want even the poorest women in Madagascar conquer these two beautiful words.

Young single mothers, abandoned women with their children, widows, disabled people: we will create groups of twenty women on the margins of society, women who no one cares about, and we will accompany them on their new journey.

Each of them has a different project, a little big dream to fulfil: a dairy cow, twenty laying hens, a sewing machine, plants and tools to start a vegetable garden, four pigs to start a livestock farming and so on.

Every woman who will take part in the project will join a group of 22 women and will have enough money to start her own activity; she won’t have more than €1.200 and she will have to give back the total amount (without any profit) in one year and half. Each group of women will meet up once or twice in a month to share problems and solutions.

At the end of this period of time, the groups that will be able to give the whole amount of money back will be able to ask for another loan to continue with their project.

All of this in the name of grandmother Monika, who believed in microcredit and in women’s strength and courage.

And now that you know the project...
